Luke 24:36-41 (MSG)
“While they were saying all this, Jesus appeared to them and said, “Peace be with you.” They thought they were seeing a ghost and were scared half to death. He continued with them, “Don’t be upset, and don’t let all these doubting questions take over. Look at my hands; look at my feet—it’s really me. Touch me. Look me over from head to toe. A ghost doesn’t have muscle and bone like this.” As he said this, he showed them his hands and feet. They still couldn’t believe what they were seeing. It was too much; it seemed too good to be true.”
The disciples doubted Jesus had been raised from the dead even though they were seeing Him with their own eyes. It all seemed so surreal and ghostly to them.
The fact of the matter was, He was dead and now He was alive! How could this be? It was beyond amazement, too good to be true.
It will blow your mind and go beyond natural ability or comprehension. It is His way of revealing Himself.
What has He shown you that may appear too good to be true? That thing that would make you fall to your knees in amazement when it happens? Maybe it’s a drug addicted teenager coming back to Him, your relative in the last stages of cancer getting healed or perhaps having a baby after being declared barren?
“Now to Him Who, by (in consequence of) the [action of His] power that is at work within us, is able to [carry out His purpose and] do superabundantly, far over and above all that we [dare] ask or think [infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, hopes, or dreams].”
