WEEKLY PROPHETIC MESSAGE: The power to decree

Yesterday I saw in the spirit believers walking around with signet rings. They were given the power to overturn demonic forces but very few of them were actually using them.

Their heads were downcast, overcome with defeat and oppression but as they began to open their mouths and prophesy victory and tear down these forces of darkness, things began to shift. They were putting a seal on their words.

They replaced lies spoken over them with the truth. They identified strong principalities and powers over regions and brought them down by using the very tools God had given them to overcome.

It was a contagious event. As one began to speak out, others followed. There was a surge of positive declarations across borders and a great unity of declarations intensified to conquer battles that had been raging across governments for decades.

As we also begin to take our authority over the darkness we encounter, we will see a great and mighty move of the Spirit upon our regions and nations for Jesus.

Your order has the authority of The King. It’s a weighty responsibility but one that must be taken up.

Prophecy makes a way

Read Acts 10

Prophecy is so powerful! Are you operating in the gift of prophecy/words of knowledge?

Cornelius received just one word of knowledge from an angel regarding Simon (called Peter) and it completely made a way for the gospel to be preached and received.

God had also prepared Peter through a vision in advance to visit the gentiles and he also acted in obedience.

Because of the accuracy of these words, this large gathering of people (v.27), who heard Peter’s message, all experienced the Holy Spirit coming upon them (v.44).

Wow! What an incredible outpouring of the gift of the Holy Spirit (v.45). Not only that, they received water baptism too!(v.47-48).

But what if Cornelius and Peter had not obeyed?

God is looking for those who will obey His voice to prophecy and make a way for hearts to be opened by giving weight to the message.

Your prophetic word may just be the catalyst for the gospel to be received causing an outpouring of the Holy Spirit!

“Whatever he tells you, do it.”
John 2:5b (MSG)

No matter what

Jonah 4:2-3 (NLT)
So he complained to the Lord about it: “Didn’t I say before I left home that you would do this, Lord? That is why I ran away to Tarshish! I knew that you are a merciful and compassionate God, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love. You are eager to turn back from destroying people. Just kill me now, Lord! I’d rather be dead than alive if what I predicted will not happen.”

The people of Tarshish actually listened to Jonah and repented of their sins and God was compassionate toward them and felt sorry for them (v11).

Ezekiel also was told…
Then go to your people in exile and say to them, ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says!’ Do this whether they listen to you or not.” Ezekiel 3:11 (NLT)

Sometimes they listened and other times not. But Jonah was so fixated on the outcome and his own reputation that He got angry.

When God gives us a message it’s easy to get caught up in people’s opinions and responses, but at the end of the day obedience to God is all that really matters.

For we speak as messengers approved by God to be entrusted with the Good News. Our purpose is to please God, not people. He alone examines the motives of our hearts.
1 Thessalonians 2:4 (NLT)

God will loosen your tongue

Ezekiel 3:27

But when I give you a message, I will loosen your tongue and let you speak. Then you will say to them, ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says!’ Those who choose to listen will listen, but those who refuse will refuse, for they are rebels.

Have you been shut down and unable to speak out what you believe or what God has been showing you? You try to speak out but there is a blockage to your words?

Or maybe your tongue has been bound up due to fear of what others may say or think as Moses was when God asked him to go before Pharaoh.

God is loosening tongues and you will speak the words He has put in your heart. Time for boldness and truth.

Ezekiel was called to bring a message from God to a rebellious group but that didn’t stop him.

As you open your mouth in obedience to Him, the words will come forth from the Lord with clarity and revelation for His people. Speak, speak it out!

Are you ready to launch?

Mark 6:1-3 NASB

Jesus went out from there and came into His hometown; and His disciples followed Him. When the Sabbath came, He began to teach in the synagogue; and the many listeners were astonished, saying, “Where did this man get these things, and what is this wisdom given to Him, and such miracles as these performed by His hands? Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, and brother of James and Joses and Judas and Simon? Are not His sisters here with us?” And they took offense at Him.

In an instant Jesus went from a place of obscurity to then being thrust into the spotlight for the world to hear His message because this was His time.

Where did He come from? The suddenness of His acceleration had people astonished and put out, leaving them in disbelief and subsequently denying His power.

His wisdom and the miracles that were in His hands were so profound that the religious locals rejected Him and never experienced His salvation. But what God had been brewing on the inside of Him, was being developed long before He was commissioned. It was a process that began in His Father’s house even at twelve years of age.

Likewise, God has been cultivating the wisdom and gifting in you, to equip you for the place of influence that is unfolding before you.

While you have simply been going about your business and spending time in your Father’s house, the Carpenter has been building inside of you all that is required for the coming season of favour and significance.

So just watch as your obscurity is unveiled, launching you into the fullness of your calling. Now is your time!
