How can I help?

Romans 15:1‭-‬5 MSG
Those of us who are strong and able in the faith need to step in and lend a hand to those who falter, and not just do what is most convenient for us. Strength is for service, not status. Each one of us needs to look after the good of the people around us, asking ourselves, “How can I help?” That’s exactly what Jesus did. He didn’t make it easy for himself by avoiding people’s troubles, but waded right in and helped out. “I took on the troubles of the troubled,” is the way Scripture puts it.

Wow! What a time to be stepping up and asking God, “How can I help? Lord, who will you put on my heart today that needs assistance in these current uncertain times?”

If we will listen to the prompting of the Spirit of God, we can be led right toward those who need our help, finding that God has given us exactly what is needed to serve them.

Ask neighbours, friends and strangers how you can help them too. It may be something practical like groceries or a phone call, or it might be reassurance and prayer, healing or whatever else their particular situation requires.

Jesus went out of His way to assist us so we should continue to do the same. Look for opportunities. Expect God to do miracles wherever He sends you. Keep planting in this time and later on you will reap such a great harvest for the Kingdom of God!

Remaining at boiling point

Romans 12:11 (TPT)
Be enthusiastic to serve the Lord, keeping your passion toward him boiling hot! Radiate with the glow of the Holy Spirit and let him fill you with excitement as you serve him.

How do we keep our passion for Him boiling hot?

It is only through being with Him (in his presence) and filling ourselves up that we can serve with this enthusiasm and excitement.

If we try to ‘muster up’ the desire to serve Him we will only come up dry and lacking energy and joy.

But when we are constantly simmering with God we are ready for whatever the Holy Spirit may guide us to do or say at any moment.

This is the most adventurous and exciting life of all!

By living from a position of soaking, seeking and meditating on Him, we can’t help but be overflowing with exuberant joy as we passionately serve the King!

Your gifting will be revealed

Genesis 40:20-23 (MSG)

And sure enough, on the third day it was Pharaoh’s birthday and he threw a feast for all his servants. He set the head cupbearer and the head baker in places of honor in the presence of all the guests. Then he restored the head cupbearer to his cupbearing post; he handed Pharaoh his cup just as before. And then he impaled the head baker on a post, following Joseph’s interpretations exactly.
But the head cupbearer never gave Joseph another thought; he forgot all about him.

Joseph had just given two interpretations of dreams that came to pass exactly as he had prophesied.
You would think the preciseness of his interpretations would have landed him out of prison there and then, but instead he was completely forgotten about for two whole years.

He didn’t kick and scream and bring attention to himself in the prison, thinking he needed to be seen. No, he continued to serve whilst simply waiting to be recognised for the gift of God upon his life.

At the appointed time God will use your gift to get you out of your prison. So wait for your door to open in God’s timing.
