Release your gifts!

What are your gifts? What’s been put within you that leaves others uplifted?

Now is the time to stir up your gifts and fan them into flame! (2 Timothy 1:6) Be bold and courageous and put them into practice.

Allow God to move in you and through you to motivate, help and bless those around you.

We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith; if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach; if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead, do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully.
Romans 12:6‭-‬8 (NIV)

Just think—you don’t need a thing, you’ve got it all! All God’s gifts are right in front of you as you wait expectantly for our Master Jesus to arrive on the scene for the Finale.
1 Corinthians 1:7 (MSG)

Walk in freedom

Psalm 32:3-5 (HCSB)

When I kept silent, my bones became brittle
from my groaning all day long.
For day and night Your hand was heavy on me;
my strength was drained
as in the summer’s heat. Selah
Then I acknowledged my sin to You
and did not conceal my iniquity.
I said,
“I will confess my transgressions to the Lord,”
and You took away the guilt of my sin. Selah

Do you know the feeling that results when you keep silent before God by storing up sin in your heart?
There is a painful distance between you and God that can only be restored through repentance.

You might be feeling distant from God if there is something that you haven’t brought before Him. There will also be feelings of heaviness until it is released. You cannot hide anything from Him.

See what happens in this psalm as the sin is confessed and renounced?

There is no longer guilt for this sin! Oh, it is so simple. All we need to do is release it to God by asking for His forgiveness. Freedom will then come to us because Jesus has paid for it. Don’t carry guilt and shame by ignoring it any longer.

“He who conceals his sins does not prosper, but whoever confesses and renounces them finds mercy.” Proverbs 28:13 (NIV)

The Word of God cannot be contained

Acts 5:22-25 NIV

But on arriving at the jail, the officers did not find them there. So they went back and reported, ‘We found the jail securely locked, with the guards standing at the doors; but when we opened them, we found no one inside.’ On hearing this report, the captain of the temple guard and the chief priests were at a loss, wondering what this might lead to. Then someone came and said, ‘Look! The men you put in jail are standing in the temple courts teaching the people.’

These apostles had the Word of God burning on the inside of them. Even though they were imprisoned for proclaiming the Good News they were compelled to speak it out.

Everything within them was crying out for release. Because they were so focused on the mission that God had given them, the apostles had to be released from their captivity inside the jail, so the angel of the Lord opened the prison gates. They were discovered standing in the temple courts teaching the people the scriptures.

Just as death could not hold Jesus down, the Word of God will not be held captive either. It must burst forth and will not return void. If our main focus is to proclaim the Word of God then we will not be bound by our circumstance. So allow God to open the gates of whatever is trying to bind you up and walk free.

Release His powerful Word wherever your feet tread and leave behind you a trail of the scent of the Holy Spirit.

“Remember Jesus Christ, raised from the dead, descended from David. This is my gospel, for which I am suffering even to the point of being chained like a criminal. But God’s word is not chained.” 2 Tim 2:8-9
