Release your gifts!

What are your gifts? What’s been put within you that leaves others uplifted?

Now is the time to stir up your gifts and fan them into flame! (2 Timothy 1:6) Be bold and courageous and put them into practice.

Allow God to move in you and through you to motivate, help and bless those around you.

We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith; if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach; if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead, do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully.
Romans 12:6‭-‬8 (NIV)

Just think—you don’t need a thing, you’ve got it all! All God’s gifts are right in front of you as you wait expectantly for our Master Jesus to arrive on the scene for the Finale.
1 Corinthians 1:7 (MSG)

Are you a willing spirit?

Exodus 35:20‭-‬26 (MSG)
So everyone in the community of Israel left the presence of Moses. Then they came back, every one whose heart was roused, whose spirit was freely responsive, bringing offerings to God for building the Tent of Meeting, furnishing it for worship and making the holy vestments. They came, both men and women, all the willing spirits among them, offering brooches, earrings, rings, necklaces—anything made of gold—offering up their gold jewelry to God . And anyone who had blue, purple, and scarlet fabrics; fine linen; goats’ hair; tanned leather; and dolphin skins brought them. Everyone who wanted to offer up silver or bronze as a gift to God brought it. Everyone who had acacia wood that could be used in the work, brought it. All the women skilled at weaving brought their weavings of blue and purple and scarlet fabrics and their fine linens. And all the women who were gifted in spinning, spun the goats’ hair.

God is emphasizing the heart condition of these people giving to Him to build the temple.

They did not just give out of obligation because it was the right thing to do, but they had a revelation from their heart to bless the work of God.

They were willing, enthusiastic givers that gave not only the best of their jewellery, fine linens, wood, leather and other expensive merchandise, but they offered their talents as well.

They willingly contributed to seeing the Lord’s work underway.

God delights in us giving Him the best of our resources, giftings and talents. When we passionately pursue His work He will look after us.

God has the best gifts for YOU!

Genesis 3:1-6 (MSG)

“The serpent was clever, more clever than any wild animal God had made. He spoke to the Woman: “Do I understand that God told you not to eat from any tree in the garden?” The Woman said to the serpent, “Not at all. We can eat from the trees in the garden. It’s only about the tree in the middle of the garden that God said, ‘Don’t eat from it; don’t even touch it or you’ll die.'”

The serpent told the Woman, “You won’t die. God knows that the moment you eat from that tree, you’ll see what’s really going on. You’ll be just like God, knowing everything, ranging all the way from good to evil.” When the Woman saw that the tree looked like good eating and realized what she would get out of it—she’d know everything!—she took and ate the fruit and then gave some to her husband, and he ate.”

Why is it that we often want what we can’t have? God has made available to you every other blessing in the garden, every tree you lay eyes on.

But will you throw it all away to have that one thing that God has said “no” to? Is it pornography? gossip? overeating? or that seductive TV show? Or has He simply said “not yet”, but you want it now?

Is it a relationship? marriage? or a lavish car? You know eating of this would be disobedience. “But it looks so good”, we ponder in our heart.

“If I could just get a bit closer and get a good look, a touch, or even a sniff.” And then before we know it we have been lured into partaking of the very thing God warned us not to touch.

‘The Lord will withhold no good thing from those who do what is right.’ Psalm 84:11b NLT

You might think God is withholding something from you but if God withholds no GOOD thing, what you think is a good thing is either not good for you at all or not good for you at this time. God knows it is not good so He is withholding it.

God delights in giving good gifts to His children. We need to stop looking at the one tree we can’t have and start thanking God for all the fruit trees we do have!
