Walls are coming down

God is bringing down walls in this season!

Zechariah 2:4b-5 (NIV)
‘Jerusalem will be a city without walls because of the great number of people and animals in it. And I myself will be a wall of fire around it,’ declares the Lord , ‘and I will be its glory within.’

Anything manmade that has been put up as a means of security and safety is coming crashing down.

What things have you put your hope in that have disappointed?
By His grace He is pulling down walls that are blocking you from complete freedom.

But the glorious thing about this, is that He promises to replace these manmade structures and blockages with His very own wall of fire!!! 🔥🔥🔥

Now HE can be your refuge, your safety and your protection. Your reliance switches to being completely dependant on your Father.

It’s time to get rid of the walls we have errected in our lives that are holding us back.

God also promises in v5 that when we do this “I WILL BE IT’S GLORY WITHIN”!
WOW! Did you catch that?

DO you want this to experience the fullness of His glory within you? I certainly do. Fill us with Your glory today Lord!

Praying bold prayers

James 1:5-8 (MSG)
If you don’t know what you’re doing, pray to the Father. He loves to help. You’ll get his help, and won’t be condescended to when you ask for it. Ask boldly, believingly, without a second thought. People who “worry their prayers” are like wind-whipped waves. Don’t think you’re going to get anything from the Master that way, adrift at sea, keeping all your options open.

God desires that we be direct and up front when we ask Him for things. He wants us to come straight to Him when things start to get crazy.

Too often we try other options before going to to Him (I know I do). We speak with our own ideas and solutions and carry on like He is not even there. Or if we do pray, we worryingly cry out not expecting Him to come through for us.

But He is just waiting to calm your storm, to bring peace and speak into the problem you are facing right now.

Try it! Come boldly and with faith, expecting an answer.

Expect it!

Are you someone that people come to because they see God in you?

Do you carry the presence of God causing people to desire what you have?

Zech. 8:23 NIVUK
This is what the Lord Almighty says: ‘In those days ten people from all languages and nations will take firm hold of one Jew by the hem of his robe and say, “Let us go with you, because we have heard that God is with you.” ’

Expect that as you pursue a life lived in the Spirit you also will be someone people want to question, someone others can trust, someone that brings encouragement and joy to those suffering.

Be ready! Position yourself. Pray for the harvest and be a fisher of men. Let it be said of you also “we have heard that God is with you”!

Zechariah 16b (NIV)
They will sparkle in his land like jewels in a crown.

Jesus and money: Can you have both?

Mark 10:23-25 (MSG)
Looking at his disciples, Jesus said, “Do you have any idea how difficult it is for people who ‘have it all’ to enter God’s kingdom?” The disciples couldn’t believe what they were hearing, but Jesus kept on: “You can’t imagine how difficult. I’d say it’s easier for a camel to go through a needle’s eye than for the rich to get into God’s kingdom”.

Why is it so difficult for a rich man to get to heaven?
Because he can easily become dependant on money.

Jesus tells us it IS possible but only with God (v27).
That is because with God’s help we can get our heart right. By placing money, investments and possessions far below Him, we can prevent them becoming idols that we worship.

Is your security and safety found in your bank account or your God?

Do you trust God or rely on your wallet?

God wants us to have money and provision but not let our money have us. He is far more precious than any amount of silver or gold anyway. The things of this earth will pass away but God will remain with us!

Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, ‘Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.’
Hebrews 13:5 NIVUK

Put it into practice

Luke 8:19‭-‬21 (NIV)
Now Jesus’ mother and brothers came to see him, but they were not able to get near him because of the crowd. Someone told him, “Your mother and brothers are standing outside, wanting to see you.” He replied, “My mother and brothers are those who hear God’s word and put it into into practice.” (Emphasis added)

Jesus is emphasizing who His family really are. He associates himself with those who put into practice what God has shown them. After all what good is knowledge and revelation if you don’t do anything with it.

So this means when we hear from Him or He shows us something, we must take action through obedience.

What a compliment to be referred to as Jesus’ family and to be known for practicing what we know to be truth. Do you want this?

James 1:22‭-‬24 MSG
Don’t fool yourself into thinking that you are a listener when you are anything but, letting the Word go in one ear and out the other. Act on what you hear! Those who hear and don’t act are like those who glance in the mirror, walk away, and two minutes later have no idea who they are, what they look like.

Embracing your individuality

Galatians 5:25-26 (MSG)
Since this is the kind of life we have chosen, the life of the Spirit, let us make sure that we do not just hold it as an idea in our heads or a sentiment in our hearts, but work out its implications in every detail of our lives. That means we will not compare ourselves with each other as if one of us were better and another worse. We have far more interesting things to do with our lives. Each of us is an original.

Isn’t it wonderful that God made us all so different with various giftings, talents, desires, abilities and backgrounds.

He designed us so uniquely, crafting us for a particular purpose in carrying out His plan on earth.

We are an original masterpiece! So why do we often automatically compare ourselves to others?

If we live in the Spirit we will not be tempted to compare ourselves to those around us but we will grasp the wonder of being created uniquely and wonderfully ourselves.

Simple trust will set you free

Daniel 6:23 (NLT)
The king was overjoyed and gave orders to lift Daniel out of the den. And when Daniel was lifted from the den, no wound was found on him, because he had trusted in his God. (emphasis added)
Full story here

Are you facing some Lions at the moment, taunted by the enemy? Do you find yourself being thrown into a den and feeling locked up?

Daniel had done nothing wrong; nothing deserving of such punishment. But he found himself surrounded by lions.

But it was a simple trust in his God that sustained him through the long night. Consequently he was found without a scratch!

God protected Daniel as he will also protect anyone who calls on Him and trusts.

Your dark night in the den will come to an end and God will surely rescue YOU!

“May your God, whom you serve continually, rescue you!”
Daniel 6:16 (NIV)

He is jealous for YOU

1 John 5:21 (NLT)
Dear children, keep away from anything that might take God’s place in your hearts.

It’s that simple. ANYTHING that might take His place is not for us.

This could be alcohol, shopping, video games, sex, food, TV, social media, possessions, money, relationships, kids, your image, your reputation, your title or even your work.

If anything is placed higher than God in our lives then He has commanded us to stay away from it.

How do you know if something is being elevated above Him?
Well, does it consume you? Are you thinking about it more than Him? Does it pull you away from prayer, worship and intimacy with your Father?

If you identify with any of these or God has revealed to you an area that He is displeased with, it’s easy to fix.

Repent, then honour Him by laying it down so He is number one again.

The Lord your God is a devouring fire; he is a jealous God.
Deuteronomy 4:24 (NLT)
