This happened to me a few months back with my husband’s collision with a car whilst riding his bike. Things that seemed important were no longer priority and an eternal perspective was heightened.
For many of you, your experience may have lingered for a lot longer than I encountered (while nursing Justin back to full health again), but whatever the case, it’s important to look at these events from God’s perspective.
Job stood up and tore his robe in grief. Then he shaved his head and fell to the ground to worship. He said, “I came naked from my mother’s womb, and I will be naked when I leave. The Lord gave me what I had, and the Lord has taken it away. Praise the name of the Lord!” In all of this, Job did not sin by blaming God. (Job 1:20-22 NLT)
This is such a powerful example and a great reminder that even in the midst of a storm, even when it seemed his life was on hold, forever changed, he still worshipped God!
