Holy Spirit guarantees our inheritance

Ephesians 1:13-14 (AMP)

“In Him you also who have heard the Word of Truth, the glad tidings (Gospel) of your salvation, and have believed in and adhered to and relied on Him, were stamped with the seal of the long-promised Holy Spirit. That [Spirit] is the guarantee of our inheritance [the first fruits, the pledge and foretaste, the down payment on our heritage], in anticipation of its full redemption and our acquiring [complete] possession of it—to the praise of His glory.”

The Holy Spirit living in us is guarantee of the glorious inheritance we have in heaven. He is the reassuring seal of something greater than this earth.

Every time you feel and sense Him, it is a reminder of your eternal home and a glimpse of the glory that awaits all who believe in, adhere to and rely on Him. As long as He is living in you, you have a down payment on a house, a reserved mansion in heaven.

“The Spirit Himself testifies together with our spirit that we are God’s children, and if children, also heirs—heirs of God and coheirs with Christ.” Romans 8:16-17a (HCSB)

That is why it is so important that we don’t grieve or dishonour Holy Spirit.

We need to be a submitted vessel that follows after His desires, avoiding passions of the flesh. Our aim is to provide a holy place of residence for the Holy Spirit so He can dwell within us. There is no greater honour than to invite Him to be a guest in our temple and host His glory daily.

“And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.” Ephesians 4:30 (NIV)
