A heart of gratitude

Luke 17:14-18 (NLT)

He looked at them and said, “Go show yourselves to the priests.” And as they went, they were cleansed of their leprosy.
One of them when he saw that he was healed came back to Jesus, shouting, “Praise God!” He fell to the ground at Jesus’ feet, thanking Him for what He had done. This man was a Samaritan. Jesus asked “Didn’t I heal ten men? Where are the other nine? Has no one returned to give glory to God except this foreigner?

There is something very refreshing about someone who is continually full of thankfulness. I bet you know someone like that? Someone who is consistently grateful and appreciative. They are contagious to be around.

This one man responds to his miracle in a way that touches the very heart of Jesus!

It wasn’t mustered up or ‘put on’, but overflowed from deep within his heart. A heart that knew some hardship, a heart that had been through some stuff. When you’ve experienced the valley, the mountaintop is ever so sweet.

How will you react as Jesus touches you in this way? Will you take for granted His miracle, treating it as common?
Or will you treasure His love towards you, falling at his feet in thankfulness, overflowing with joy and gratitude?

Be the one to return to Him over and over again.
