Keeping the joy

Christmas can be a challenging season for many, and most people I talk to feel very overwhelmed with events, parties, concerts, finalising reports, family gatherings, cooking and wrapping gifts.

With so much going on in our minds it’s so easy to forget the beauty of this season as we get carried away with ‘getting through’ everything.

God has not purposed for us to just survive and get by, but to embrace the true Spirit of this season: to embrace Him. He is Perfection, Glory, Majesty, Divinity. He is Saviour, Messiah and our best friend. And He came to us as a baby boy!

Luke 2:9‭-‬11 (NLT)
Suddenly, an angel of the Lord appeared among them, and the radiance of the Lord’s glory surrounded them. They were terrified, but the angel reassured them. “Don’t be afraid!” he said. “I bring you good news that will bring great JOY to all people. The Savior—yes, the Messiah, the Lord—has been born today in Bethlehem, the city of David!

So don’t get too busy for Him. But take a moment, take a breath to imagine Him as a baby, to worship Him and focus on the beauty of Christmas, the beauty of Christ Himself.

  1. Thanks, Bronwyn. This was Johns message from yesterday too. X Jenny I have been meaning to share a scripture that I heard recently and thought of you: Psalm 68:11 ‘The Lord gave the Word and great was the company of those that proclaimed it.’ Have a wonderful Christmas with all your family.
