What is your wall?

Nehemiah 1:3-4 NIV

They said to me, ‘Those who survived the exile and are back in the province are in great trouble and disgrace. The wall of Jerusalem is broken down, and its gates have been burned with fire.’ When I heard these things, I sat down and wept. For some days I mourned and fasted and prayed before the God of heaven.

Nehemiah was so convicted when he heard the terrible news about the city wall that he was overwhelmed with passion for the people and set about changing the situation.

What was on God’s heart became His number one objective. His life up to this point had been a preparation for the great work he was about to undergo.

He had been set up by God for this very time. He was strategically and divinely placed in a position where he had access to great power and influence with the king as his cupbearer.

So he prays: ‘Lord, let your ear be attentive to the prayer of this your servant and to the prayer of your servants who delight in revering your name. Give your servant success today by granting him favour in the presence of this man.’ V11

What is the project that is burning within your heart; the thing you are most passionate about? What makes you fall to your knees in desperation to see the hand of God move upon? It may be a counsel project, a law being approved, founding an organisation, or even building something.

Others might have said it’s impossible, but you know in your heart that it WILL succeed with His help and direction. This is your great commission, your mandate. God is calling you to repair this problem that lies in front of you and in doing so, show off the power and glory of God.

Start seeking Him for the fundamental people, provision and strategy to get this project underway.
