Be faithful to the vision

Acts 26:19-20 NIV

‘So then, King Agrippa, I was not disobedient to the vision from heaven. First to those in Damascus, then to those in Jerusalem and in all Judea, and then to the Gentiles, I preached that they should repent and turn to God and demonstrate their repentance by their deeds.

Paul is highlighting to King Agrippa the importance of being true to the vision or calling that God has given us. He prides himself on being obedient to what God has commissioned him to do, no matter what the cost. God revealed and confirmed Paul’s mandate in a dramatic way early on in his journey and he stuck with it his whole life.

Like Paul we are all called to bring the Kingdom of God to earth by declaring repentance and preaching the Gospel message. However, God has given us individual keys to approach this and has shown us our role in the overall vision. He gave us our gifts and talents to equip us to fulfil our calling.

Check yourself to determine if you are still on track with the vision God gave you when He chose you. Whatever you are now undertaking in your life, can you honestly say like Paul did “I am not disobeying the vision from heaven”?
