Sell up!

Matthew 13:44-46 NLT

‘“The Kingdom of Heaven is like a treasure that a man discovered hidden in a field. In his excitement, he hid it again and sold everything he owned to get enough money to buy the field. “Again, the Kingdom of Heaven is like a merchant on the lookout for choice pearls. When he discovered a pearl of great value, he sold everything he owned and bought it!’

The Kingdom of Heaven is hidden for us to discover. Now that you have found it, what will you sacrifice in order to keep this precious possession? There may be some compromise in your life that you need to sell which is hindering your full devotion to God. Clear out the clutter that is dimming your focus and be ruthless.

Maybe your hindrance is wasting time on facebook, television, video games, and reading material that doesn’t bring life to you.

Or perhaps you are holding on to sentimental items that keep you bound to your past and prevent you stepping into the future. Or could it be those long hours you spend at work toiling away in an attempt to make your own way at the expense of the Pearl of greatest price?

Sell up all the distractions that will limit the Spirit of God moving in your life. Cry out to God in desperation for Him and He will come. He will not disappoint. Is He worth enough to you that you would sell up everything you own, all that is dear to you, to buy the most precious possession of all?

Pour out your alabaster jar of perfume over Him with extravagance. His presence that will flood your life when you sell up will bring joy unspeakable and heavenly glory.
