Ezra 6:22, 7:6, 25 NLT
22 Then they celebrated the Festival of Unleavened Bread for seven days. There was great joy throughout the land because the Lord had caused the king of Assyria to be favorable to them, so that he helped them to rebuild the Temple of God, the God of Israel.
6 This Ezra was a scribe who was well versed in the Law of Moses, which the Lord, the God of Israel, had given to the people of Israel. He came up to Jerusalem from Babylon, and the king gave him everything he asked for, because the gracious hand of the Lord his God was on him.
25 “And you, Ezra, are to use the wisdom your God has given you to appoint magistrates and judges who know your God’s laws to govern all the people in the province west of the Euphrates River. Teach the law to anyone who does not know it.
What joy the people experienced when they had been favoured by the King to rebuild the temple! The mighty hand of God was upon Ezra and he was given whatever he asked for because his mission was to complete the work that was on God’s heart. So he went about completing the rebuilding of the temple. As he used his gifting in leading the people in this project, he was given a platform to teach the Word of God (refer to Nehemiah 8:3-5 NLT).
God wants to favour you in whatever projects He has equipped you for. Not only that, but this favour will come from kings in the high places of influence in your field.
So if you’re enacting policies, you will be favoured by politicians and government officials. If you’re developing books or movies, well known publishing enterprises and film corporations may give you opportunities. If you’re feeding the poor you will gain access into the areas of need and provision, or if you are in business, the CEO’s of major companies will request to meet with you. These kings in high levels of authority will have the power to breakdown blockages you may come up against when building something with God and this same generous assistance will be given to you!
Not only will you experience this unprecedented favour but most importantly you will be given opportunities to demonstrate the principles of the Kingdom of God and ultimately share the Gospel. Like with Ezra, the project was just a method God used to bring about a much more vital need: the saving of many souls.
The success of the project will lead you to administer with authority the redeeming grace of Jesus Christ.
